Article 1
The association has the name: Internationaal Shanty and sea songs Association (ISSA) and is based in Delfzijl (The Netherlands).

Article 2
1st The ISSA is the union of intra-and extra-European choirs. The association is the tradition of shanties and other maritime choir songs, their further development to the goal and will include make through musical activities and publications and through the maintenance of interpersonal contacts to contribute to building mutual understanding and tolerance between peoples. His activities are kind and charitable non-profit.
2nd He tries, through to reach this goal:
Notices of musical content, organizational structures and the culture of the homeland appropriate manifestation of the members;
Planning, implementation and support of individual and community music projects;
Initiatives in the interpersonal communication between the generations;
the representation of the ISSA in national and international associations and committees.

Article 3
The means to achieve the objectives:
non-material resources (readings, experiences, discussions, publications, cultural events, courses, music bank, music sharing, etc.);
material resources (membership fees, subsidies and support from sponsors, proceeds from events, donations, collections and other donations and charges).

Article 4
Member of the association may be choirs from European and other countries that meet the objectives and tasks of the ISSA.

Article 5
The membership application shall be submitted to the Executive Board of the ISSA, the decision on the application.

Article 6
1st The membership of a member of ends:
a. Resolution of the choir;
b. Termination by the member;
c. Termination by the association;
d. Exclusion of the member.
2nd A termination of membership on the part of the member is only the end of a fiscal year possible. The resignation must be in writing. In addition, a notice is to be observed by at least four weeks.
Nevertheless, an immediate termination of membership by notice is available:
a. if can not reasonably be required to continue the membership;
b. within one month after a member has become aware of a decision by which restricted the rights of members or their duties are more difficult, or against this decision was brought to the attention (if it's not a change in the financial rights and obligations) ;
c. within one month of being a member of a decision to transform the club into another legal form or to a merger note was taken. If a dismissal is not on time, the membership will run until the end of the club next year
3rd The termination of membership by the association is also only possible at the end of a fiscal year.
Denunciation shall be effected by written notice by the Central Board by serving a notice period of at least four weeks. The termination of membership by the association is only possible if by the association can not reasonably be required to continue the membership.
If a dismissal is not on time, the membership will run until the end of the club next year.
4th Membership can only be withdrawn if a member against the statutes, rules or decisions of the association is contrary to what is the case, among other things, if the annual fee, despite repeated request for payment or not is not paid on time or if the member of the association at a disadvantage in unfair manner .
The exclusion is made by the Main Board, which sets the member immediately, giving reasons of the decision. The interested party has the right to appeal against this decision within one month before the General Assembly calling.
Pending the decision of the General Assembly suspended the membership.
The General Assembly requires the decision of the exclusion of a two-thirds majority of the votes cast.
5th Ends membership of the club over a year, payable to the member notwithstanding the entire annual fee. Article 7
1st Members are entitled to attend all events organized by the ISSA and take its services to complete.

Article 8
Organs of the ISSA are:
the Assembly;
the Main Board and the Executive Board;
the music committee.

Article 9
1st The annual meeting takes place once a year. Each member shall appoint a voting delegate.
2nd be held on written request of the Central Board or by at least one third of the members must have a meeting.
3rd The convening and conduct of members shall be for the chairman.
4th At the meeting, all members must be invited at least eight weeks before the date of the meeting including the agenda and - as far as possible - in Dutch, German and English.
5th Agenda items should be sent to the Chairman at least fourteen days before the date of the meeting in writing.
6th Each member shall, without regard to its size and importance, represented by one (1) voting delegates.
7th The general assembly is independent of the number of those present, voting members eligible to vote. A valid resolution requires a simple majority of those present, voting delegates.
8th Case of a tie, a proposal is rejected.
9th Votes are always conducted openly. Voting shall take place by secret ballot where this is requested by at least ten percent of the members present, voting members. About individuals will be voted in principle secret.

Article 10
1st The financial year is the calendar year.
Every year for at least one meeting will be held within six months and the end of the financial year if the period is extended by the General Assembly. At this meeting sets the Main Board in its annual report on the club premises and of his administration. He places the Assembly, the balance sheet and a list of income and expenditure together with an explanation for their approval.
These documents will be signed by the members of the Central Board, missing signatures of board members are reported, giving reasons.

Article 11
The Assembly is the highest organ of the ISSA. It assumes the following tasks:

Resolution concerning removal and expulsion of members in the event of an appeal;
Election of the Central Board;
Execution of the remaining work.

Article 12
1st The Board is composed of at least five persons from within their ranks a chairman, a vice chairman, a chairman of the music committee, a secretary and a treasurer. Any country out of the Choirs (members) is derived, at least one member of the Executive Board.
2nd The board members are appointed by the Assembly from among the members of the association.
The General Assembly shall determine the number of board members.
3rd Board members may at any time by giving reasons, suspended or dismissed by the General Assembly. Decisions regarding suspension or dismissal of the general assembly passes a two-thirds majority of the votes cast.
4th Unless the General Assembly in the case of the suspension has not taken a board member within three months a decision on his release, stop the suspension. The suspended member of the board shall have the opportunity to sit in the members' account, which can engage a consultant.
5th Board members are appointed for a period of four years. In this context, is understood to be a year of time between two consecutive annual general meeting. The board members retire from the Board in a set rotation, a rotation member of the board can be ordered directly excreted new.

Article 13
1st The chairman, deputy chairman, the chairman of the music committee, the treasurer and the secretary together form the Executive Board.
2nd The Managing Board is entrusted, among other things, the preparation of congresses and events of the ISSA and is responsible for their execution, he makes contacts between members and promotes the other aims of the ISSA (see Section 2).

6th The decisions of the Executive Board are taken by simple majority vote.

Article 14
1st The board is entrusted with the leadership of the association. The Board may delegate functions and powers until further notice to the Executive Board.

Article 15
1st The Executive Board represents the association.

Article 16
1st The Music Commission is the advisory body of the Executive Board and the General Assembly. The music committee is composed of at least five persons elected by the General Assembly. If possible, provide each country from which Choirs (members) are derived at least one member of the music committee.
2nd As chairman of the music committee of the acts chosen in accordance with Article 13.1 of the Statute of the ISSA, "chairman of the music committee.

4th The members of the music committee are entitled to participate in an advisory capacity without vote in the Assembly (except 9.6). This right applies even if the Commission is composed of a time less than five members.

Article 17
1st The music committee of ISSA observed the development of music and trends, exercise influence on them and offers opportunities for artistic transposition. It acts as a carrier of the ideas of the ISSA and coordinates the musical activities.
2nd It coordinates the ISSA events and is involved in designing them.
Articles of Association

Article 18
1st An amendment of the articles can be suggested only by a decision of the Assembly, which referred to the convening of the proposed amendment of the articles.

Article 19
The three members of the Audit Committee shall be elected by the Assembly for a period of two years. To prevent that their term of office at the same time always ends, is elected one of the three at the first election for a period of one year.

Article 20
1st The resolution of the ISSA can only be decided in an extraordinary general meeting convened for that purpose.

3rd The existing property shall not be assigned to individuals, but among the different national rescue organizations to split. The division of property is equal to the number of participants in each country.

Article 21
1st The General Assembly may take one or more rules, to be regulated in this Constitution which is currently not fully clarified questions, define and change.

3rd On decisions to determine and change the rules of procedure provided in Article 18, paragraph 1, 2 and 5 shall apply.

Article 22
About all the things that are not regulated under European law, yet in this Constitution, shall decide the presidency.

Article 23
1st Where in this Constitution of persons are mentioned, both man and woman can be read.
2nd The present Constitution was established by the founding meeting of the eleventh day of November one thousand nine hundred ninety-five and adopted. You shall have immediate effect.
